AES is the most encryption standard for WiFi WLANs, based on the Rijndael algorithm, AES has been approved by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS-197). AES is a symmetric encryption algorithm that will be used by U.S. Government organisations and many other organisations in the future, to protect the transmission of sensitive information. AES is being incorporated into the IEEE 802.11i standard for 802.11 WLAN security.
